San Juan Weekend: Car Camping

Friends scored a reservation in the San Juan this weekend, so we tagged along.  Driving up to San Juan on Friday, we caught our first Pikachu on the ferry as we were driving in!  Woohoo!

The next day, went kayaking via Discovery Kayak.  Supposedly it was to be a whale watching kayak experience - but because of the season and also how close we were to the shore, we didn't really see any whales.

Our tour guide was a pretty old dude, and spent a good hour talking about safety (we should have told him that we knew how to kayak instead of saying we were beginners).  We didn't really see much because we only kayaked about 0.82 miles in a 3 hour excursion.

Because we were given the lazy tour, we were able to enjoy the sunset and take quite a few pictures.

For the rest of the time there, we drove around the island.  Saw an alpaca farm, a sculpture park, and a lavender farm.

Farmer Mson Saga: Progress Check

It's growing!  Was scared a month back when the cilantro was droopy - turns out it was just thirsty.  With water, the plants grow!

Tour Guide Mson Day 2: Belgium beer day!

With my ankle non operational, today we sent the to Yale Town.  Then in the evening, we would reconvene at Chambar for dinner.

Chambar is a Belgium restaurant, and the food was really good.  There was a parking lot right across the street that did not cost an arm and a leg, so it was easy even for an injured tour guide to go to.

Tried two beers.  Both were pretty good.  (Technically by the end of the night we tried 9+ different beers since we rotated so everyone had a taster of each).

Tour Guide Mson Day 1: QE Park

After many years relying on other tour guides, today I took on job of being the Vancouver.  First stop was Queen Elizabeth (QE) Park.

Pretty cool place - also went inside a greenhouse rain forest, where we saw lots of different birds and different kinds of tropical trees.

On the way out, twisted ankle walking full force on the grass lawn at QE park :(.  With that, I was adjusted by my tourists to the car, and then we went Viy's for dinner.

So I guess I was not a full tour guide - given half way through I had to stop... lol.
